Donation Appeal Story for Medical Assistance
This appeal is for Miss. Tuya Mithun Das, a 4-year-old little girl who has been bravely fighting for her life. She has been diagnosed with a serious blood disorder called B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) — a form of blood cancer that affects the white blood cells.
Doctors at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, Mumbai, have confirmed that the only curative treatment for Tuya’s condition is a Stem Cell Transplant. Unfortunately, she does not have a matched related or unrelated donor, which means she will require a Haploidentical Transplant, a more complex and expensive procedure.
The estimated cost of treatment is ₹29,00,000 (Twenty-Nine Lakhs Rupees), provided there are no major complications. Out of this, the family has managed to raise around ₹19,00,000, which includes a ₹15,00,000 sanction from the TATA Trust and some contributions from kind-hearted donors. However, they still fall short by ₹10,00,000, an amount they are unable to arrange due to their poor financial condition.
Tuya’s family hails from Purba Barasat, Post-Sutia Barasat, District North 24 Parganas, West Bengal – 743273. Her father works as a construction labourer, earning just ₹1,44,000 per year. The family of four struggles to manage even their daily living expenses, making it impossible to bear the high cost of medical treatment.
Despite their hardships, Tuya’s parents are doing everything possible to save their daughter. Every day in the hospital brings both hope and fear — hope that she will recover, and fear that they might lose her due to financial constraints.
